Before Processing of Admission
The Admission Department is the patient's first stop when they enter St. Luke's Medical Center. Before admission, patients will be requested to present the following:
Doctor's admission order sheet - which indicates specific requirements for the patient's case. In the absence of the doctor's admission order sheet or a doctor known to them, a walk-in patient may be admitted through the Emergency Room.
Letter of Authorization (LOA) - for Company or HMO/PPO Sponsored Accounts. Patients without LOA will be automatically considered as private-paying patients and an initial deposit will be required. Those who submit the LOA during their confinement may be re-classified from private to Corporate or HMO/PPO sponsored accounts.
Employee Health Clinic (EHC) Physician's order - for confinement for St. Luke’s Employees.
Patient Information Sheet (PIS)
Information requested will be written in the PIS and will be used for data gathering. This can be obtained from the patient either on the day of admission or in advance to avoid inconvenience.
All patients are given an ID band to be worn around the wrist for the duration of their stay at the medical center.
The patient will be asked to sign consent forms for hospital care, exclusive supply of medicines, limitation on outside diagnostic reports, release of information to insurance companies and/or patient's employer, and waiver of responsibility on loss of valuables.
Patients are referred to the Emergency Room (ER) if they do not have an admission order sheet from their attending physician. In such cases, the ER consultant will ask the patient for the name of his/her physician. The ER consultant may only assign an attending physician to the patient's case if he or she does not have a personal physician of choice.
Room Queuing Procedures
The Admission Department accepts room queuing. The assigned room shall be confirmed on the day of admission and shall be held for the patient up to a maximum of two (2) hours prior to the patient’s scheduled time of arrival. However, if the patient fails to arrive within the indicated time of arrival, the room shall be assigned to other patients. The hospital also reserves the right to cancel queuing requests to give way to emergency and critical cases.
The St. Luke's Emergency Department is composed of a group of adult emergency physicians trained in Emergency Medicine and pediatric specialists with a background in Pediatric Emergency. It can handle medical, surgical and toxicologic emergencies in adults and children 24 hours a day. The latest in diagnostic modalities and therapeutics can be made available to patients on a timely basis.
Classification of Emergency Patients:
Primary - patient with non-emergent problems that
do not pose life threats now or in the future. Little
treatment is necessary.
Acute - patient needs immediate medical attention
because of urgent but not life-threatening problems.
Critical - patient needs immediate evaluation and/or
treatment due to the life-threatening nature of his
Isolation Room - a truly negative pressure area where patients with airborne diseases (Tuberculosis, Chicken Pox, etc.) are seen before they are admitted to respective isolation rooms in the hospital.
International Patient Care

Medical Referrals and Schedule of Appointments
Depending on your needs, IPC staff arranges an appointment with your preferred medical specialist and scheduling of diagnostic tests/procedures.
We assist you in planning your stay at the hospital, and assist you from the time of admission until discharge.
To ensure a positive experience, we provide logistical support for your travel requirements- from airline ticketing, land transportation, to room reservations- in coordination with the Concierge Department.
From your arrival at the airport, we may provide transfer services to and from St. Luke's via hospital transport service, ambulance or taxi.
We can assist in coordinating with the patient's insurance company for concerns in settlement of payment.
We assist in coordinating with outsourced interpreters as needed.
Business Center Use
We provide computer usage with internet access, photocopy, scanning and printing services for our guests.
We coordinate with your attending physician and assist you in navigating the healthcare system to get the most out of your experience.
In coordination with the Emergency Care Department, ambulance conduction within Metro Manila can be made available for patients who have to be transported to and from St. Luke's. Relatives of patients may coordinate with the department at ext.1078
The International Patient Care Department is open Mondays to Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. IPC is a one stop shop for all you needs.

Hospitalization can cause a lot of stress and worries, particularly costs and the process of hospital admission. Because we aim for you to have peace of mind, we have appointed Medical Planners who will provide you with medical and financial planning assistance.
What can you expect from our Medical Planners? They will assess your medical requirements and offer you several options whether this be related to choice of rooms and other medical services. This is to help you conserve your Maximum Benefit Limit. We aim to give you a variety of options that would minimize our utilization expenses thus eliminating unnecessary expenditures. From the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) 3 terminal, take Andrews Avenue, then turn left to Sales Road, and proceed all the way to Lawton Avenue. Continue proceeding towards 5th Avenue inside Bonifacio Global City. Then, turn left to Rizal Drive until you see the entrance to the lobby of St. Luke's Medical Center.

St. Luke's improved safety program includes stringent medication safety controls, comprehensive infection control systems and all aspects of patient, medication and environmental safety.
The Quality and Patient Safety Division, headed by a Chief Quality Officer, was created to oversee the quality monitors and quality outcomes of St. Luke's. It provides a center for consultation, collaboration, education, research and expertise in quality improvement and patient safety.
