Clinical Services

With state-of-the-art equipment, the Stone and Prostate Treatment Center (SPTC) is able to treat urinary stones without the need for surgery and hospital confinement, thereby minimizing morbidity as well as financial burden on the patient.

Benign Prostate Enlargement, especially in patients with co-morbid conditions which make surgery a less desirable option, can also be treated using a highly advanced microwave machine on an out-patient basis.

I. Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL)

Dornier Compact Delta and EDAP LTO2 – two lithotripsy machines working complementary to each other in order to locate stones anywhere in the urinary tact. Both use shockwaves to blast the stones to fine powder which the patient then passes out through the urine, thereby obviating the need for surgery. Treatment is done on an out-patient basis.

II. Transurethral Microwave Thermotherapy (TUMT)

Prostatron – a microwave thermotherapy machine used to treat patients with Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) without open surgery. This treatment is also done on an out-patient basis.
