Memory Enhancement Program
The St. Luke’s Medical Center’s Memory Enhancement Program (MEP) is a hospital based out-patient program providing detailed assessment and cognitive therapy for individuals with memory and associated cognitive difficulties. The program aims to restore, improve or compensate a person’s memory and cognitive abilities. It offers individualized programs that will allow individuals to function at optimal levels in their daily environments.

- Neuropsychological Evaluation which covers the following:
- Neuropsychological Status
- Symptom Validity
- Intellectual Abilities
- Memory Functioning
- Language Abilities
- Attentional Capacities
- Psychopathological Indicators
- Phase 2
- Brief psychotherapy sessions with the patient and caregivers that involve expectations, goal setting, and commitment.
- Six MEP modules using Cognitive Therapy which may involve any of the following:
- Functional Assessment
- Computer-Aided Programs
- Memory Strategies
- Cognitive Training
- Orientation
- Semantic Elaboration
- Errorless Training
- Practical Applications
- Purposeful Activities
- Relaxation Techniques
- Adaptive Strategies
- Phase 3
- Six MEP modules using Cognitive Therapy
- Neuropsychological re-evaluation is performed after the MEP modules to determine changes in the patient’s abilities
- Post MEP conference is scheduled to make further recommendations or decisions for an extended MEP

- Extended MEP (nine MEP modules using Cognitive Therapy)
- Neuropsychological re-evaluation
- Post-extended MEP Conference
