The Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases is a comprehensive facility offering state-of-the-art endoscopic modalities in the diagnosis and treatment of various digestive diseases. Its services range from routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to very specialized procedures and interventions for both upper and lower gastrointestinal tract including the liver and biliary system. Its team of experts are highly specialized and trained in the field of adult and pediatric gastroenterology.

The institute was the first in the country to acquire the advanced Endoscopic Ultrasound System (EUS) which combines endoscopy and ultrasound in order to obtain information and images about the digestive tract wall and the adjacent tissues and organs. Not only that, but the institute’s highly trained specialists can perform endoscopic-guided biopsies for proper diagnosis and therapeutic planning.

The Institute also has the only operational GI Motility & pH laboratory in the Philippines that offers a wide range of GI-Motility studies including pH monitoring and manometry to patients with various motility disorders and esophageal reflux problems.

The Pediatric Endoscopic Section of the Institute of Digestive Diseases is another first in the country that caters specifically to pediatric age groups requiring specialized care and services. Composed of very competent pediatric gastroenterologists, the section boasts of having comprehensive support from well trained nursing staff to highly skilled anesthesiologists.
