The Breast Center stands at the forefront of breast cancer treatment and research. Patients who visit the Breast Center have access to the most advanced diagnostic tests and therapies including state-of-the-art mammography, high resolution breast ultrasonography, a minor operating-procedure room for Fine Needle Aspiration, Core Needle, Stereotactic, Needle Localization procedures, and Excision/Incision biopsies.

The Breast Center provides the patient all the options for arriving at an accurate diagnosis and supported further by the latest technology available at St. Luke's Medical Center.

One of the modalities for an accurate diagnosis of breast lesions at the Breast Center is the Mammotome, an innovative, minimally invasive biopsy device that is expected to significantly expand women’s access and choice of a biopsy procedure. It is a vacuum-assisted Breast Biopsy System that facilitates a fast, highly accurate diagnosis of primarily ultrasound-detected, and some mammogram-detected suspicious lesions with minimal tissue trauma and patient discomfort.

The Breast Center has a multidisciplinary team of specialists to facilitate prompt evaluation, immediate results and coordinated treatment and follow-up. Specialists include surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gynecologists, pathologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, physiatrists, psychiatrists, pain and palliative care specialists.
