The Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases sets the benchmark, not only with our comprehensive range of services and modern technologies, but also with our highly subspecialized staff. Gastroenterologists at the Institute undergo training in various subspecialty interests like hepatology, transplantation, or specialized endoscopy. The team takes on a multidisciplinary approach to every case they handle, with doctors consulting each other and practicing inter-referral to come up with the best solution to a patient's medical concern.
Services range from routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract and the hepatobiliary pancreatic system to special procedures such as percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement, biliary and esophageal stenting, and esophageal variceal sclerotherapy or banding.
The Institute was the first in the country to acquire the advanced Endoscopic Ultrasound System (EUS), which combines endoscopy and ultrasound to obtain information and images about the digestive tract wall and the adjacent tissues and organs.
