Residency Training Program
Requirements for Residency Training Program:
- Pictures 2x2 and 1x1 (2 each)
- Curriculum Vitae to include Schools Attended, Hobbies and Interest
- Transcript of Record (Certified True Copy)
- Letters of Recommendation from the Dean including Class Rank and Good Standing or;
- Certificate of Good Conduct (Good Moral Character) and
- Certificate of Class Ranking
- Letters of Recommendation from two (2) Medical Consultant from the same specialty being applied for. Except for subjects that are not regularly offered in Medical School such as Dermatology, Nuclear Medicine, Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, and Urology.
- Medical School Diploma
- Certificate of Internship
- Board Rating Result (PRC)
- Certificate from Board of Medicine (PRC)
- Photocopy of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) License
- Certificate of Life Support (ACLS/BLS) Optional
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
For Dermatology Resident Applicants:
- Letter of Intent addressed to the Section Chief of Dermatology
- Curriculum Vitae
- One Letter of Recommendation from a doctor involved in your training/medical school
- One Letter of Recommendation from the Head of the Training Program previously in, if any
- One Letter of Recommendation from the Head of the Office previously in, if any
- One page ESSAY on the topic "What I Imagine my Dermatology Practice will be like Ten Years after Graduation from SLMC Dermatology".
For Ophthalmology Residency Applicants:
- Curriculum Vitae with Photograph
- Personal statement / essay (max. length: 1 Page) that contains the following:
- Reason for your interest in Ophthalmology
- Reason for considering St. Luke's Medical Center
- What is your strongest and weakest personality / character traits?
- What can you contribute to the St. Luke's Medical Center/SLIEI?
- What are your expectations in this training program?
- What are your career plans?
- Where do you eventually plan to practice?
- Basic Course in Ophthalmology - Certificate of completion
- Certificate of attendance: Research instructional course (Optional, but highly recommended)
Selection of Applicants for Residency Training Program:Qualification will be based on two out of four criteria:
- Must belong to the upper 50% of their graduating class as shown by their academic standing.
- Board rating of 80 and higher in their Physician Licensure Examination, first time passers.
- Belonging to schools with overall Physician Board Performance higher than 90% passing rate, in the last 3 recent exams.
- GWA of 2.5 or 80%
