In a developing country like the Philippines, not only is medical research needed but proper health care is beyond the reach of many. Treatments for certain diseases are expensive or not available in the country. That is why local residents seek medical help in other parts of the world. As for those who cannot afford health care, there is no alternative but to rely on help from philanthropic individuals and institutions.

Even as the government does its duty of providing affordable health care - improving it through research and education - private institutions must do their share. St. Luke's is proud to make a significant contribution to the cause of providing health care to the community. We conduct programs to find effective and affordable remedies to many complex diseases. Research also helps find ways of bringing down the cost of health care services so that they become more affordable for the greatest number of people.

Mission of healing

St. Luke's Medical Center is an independent non-stock, non-profit, nonsectarian charitable corporation governed by a Board of Trustees whose members do not receive nor seek remuneration, perks, or privileges. Every peso earned reverts to the hospital and is invested to provide the best medical facilities and expertise, and fund charity and research programs.

We are recognized for excellence in many areas, particularly for our accomplishments in patient care, medical expertise, research, and technology.
